Masters in Medical and Health Humanities here we come!!
So last year, I was awarded a scholarship from NICHE (Norfolk Initiative for Coastal & rural Health Equalities) to study for a Masters in Medical Health & Humanities at the University of East Anglia (UEA).
The first academic term is now complete, the second term is underway and I’m thoroughly enjoying being back in education and the stimulus that brings to my artistic practice.
It’s not all been plain sailing though……my previous student life was but a distant memory and being back in the world of academia, along with its vocabulary and navigating around a campus that is undergoing serious renovations, has been more of a cognitive challenge than I anticipated, coupled with the fact that I’m a mum and have responsibilities alongside my studies, it’s fair to say it’s been a juggling act!!
This term I will start researching for my dissertation, so lots of reading lies ahead, which is the fun part, compiling it all into a 12,000-word dissertation, however, not so fun!!
